My name is Mark Munroe. I’m 43, gay, Canadian, and I live in Valencia, Spain with my partner Beau and our adopted dog Manny.
I’m a recovering addict who rebuilt his life from scratch. More than once.
Along the way I became a model, started a blog, founded ADDICTED Magazine, built an audience of nearly a million people across social media, worked with some of the world’s biggest brands, lost things I thought defined me, and eventually moved across the world to figure out what actually brings me joy.
Sparker came out of all of that.
Not as a brand. Not as a content strategy. As a need — to write honestly about what rebuilding really looks like, what I’ve actually learned from the losses and the wins, and what it means to search for joy when you’ve been through enough to know the difference between real and performed.
I write here when I have something worth saying. No schedule. No algorithm to feed. No version of myself I’m trying to maintain.
Just the honest version.
